Demonstrations outside UN Headquarters to mark the 250th of Mon Kingdom Hongsawatoi Fallen day

On May 8,2007, about 60 MRC members staged demonstration outside of UN Headquarters in New York to mark the 250th Anniversary of Mon Kingdom Hongsawatoi Fallen Day. At the same time, three MRC representatives met UN official, Broddi  Siguroarson, Secretariat for Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues, Division for Social Policy and Development,  Department of Economic and Social Affairs. In the meeting MRC representatives discussed with many issues with Mr. Siguroarson including violations of human rights, refugees, internal displaced person  in Monland.
