Mon Community of Fort Wayne celebrates Three River's Festival

  On July 14, 2008, Mon community of Fort Wayne celebrated the Three River's Festival in Fort Wayne, Indiana. About 40 Mons with colorful Mon national dresses marched a long with other 147 groups in downtown of Fort Wayne. Fort Wayne TV Channel 21 and 15 reported that, " Monland Restoration Council was founded in 1993 in order to protect basic human rights of the Mon people in Burma and strive to restore and maintain the language, culture, literature and tradition which have been suppressed by the Burmese government"  This is forth year for Mon Community of Fort Wayne participating the Three River's Festival in Fort Wayne, Indiana in order to raise awareness of Mon culture in Fort Wayne. Mon Community of Fort Wayne is comprised of Monland Restoration Council (Fort Wayne), Mon Women's Association of America (Fort Wayne) and Mon Youth Organization (USA).
