I am Proud to be Mon.

I am proud to be Mon, because we, (the Mon People), are very determined to win back Monland. I know it’ll be a very difficult task, but that’s why we are strong, as human beings and also as a nation. I am also proud to be Mon because we know how to treat people with respect. My school has a saying and it is “R.E.D.” The “R” stands for respect. The “E” stands for effort. Finally, the “D” stands for determination. With these three things, and a little hard work, I believe we can do anything and that includes taking Monland back to our rightful hands.

To a student like me, being Mon is a great feeling. When a teacher in school asks me what culture I’m from, I proudly stand and say, “Mon.” My teacher might ask, “What is Mon?” I then say, “Mon is my culture. Mon is my heritage. Mon is my family. Most importantly, Mon is my future.” I am hoping I can get everyone to say that.

I know Mon people have to struggle and struggle to stay alive, but I know us, the Mon community in Fort Wayne , can rise and make the Mon Kingdom the future for everyone. Another reason that I am proud to be Mon is because I get to know two languages. Both Mon and English are important languages to me. I know I will need to use both when I grow up and in the future.

I am also proud to be Mon because Mon people are very noble people. My parents once told me to think things out before I do something. I know that is great advice to a young man like me. Like I said earlier, the future is very important. When I graduate from collage, my future will be bright because I Know I am a Mon student. I also know that I am Mon for a reason, and that reason is to keep the Mon kingdom strong in America .

I believe that it is a privilege to live in America in a Mon community, but someday I am hoping we can do something to take back our land. I know we will succeed because of one reason; and that is because we are MON. That is why I am proud to be Mon.
