Three Mon political leaders from Mon National Democratic Front (MNDF) are released today about noon time from the Mon State’s capital Moulmein jail.

Nai Pan Aung, MNDF spokeperson said, the SPDC authorities and Military Intelligence Officers sent three Mon political leaders Nai Ngwe Thein, Dr. Min Soe Lin and Dr. Min Kyi Win back to their homes at noon time.

New Mon State Party from Moulmein’s Liaison Office also confirmed that three leaders are released and they arrived at homes.

“On May 27, the MNDF members were allowed to meet them at the hospital.  Now, the MNDF spokesperson told me that the SPDC already released them”, said a NMSP member.

It's a surprised that two MPs: Dr. Min Soe Lin and Dr. Kyi Win were released during the National Convention.   Nai Ngwe Thein, over 80 years old man, is a leader of UNLD, a close aid to NLD and a veteran politician.

These three political leaders were imprisoned in 1998 after the formation of the Committee Representing People’s Parliament (CRPP) and wrote a criticism letter to New Mon State Party.   They were accused for destabilizing the country’s security as the regime has constantly accused to many other political prisoners.

Their imprisonment term decided by the SPDC’s court was for eight years and it will end in late 2005.
