Clash between DKBA and NMSP in southern Burma
There had been a clash between the fighters of Democratic Karen
Buddhist Army (DKBA) and New Mon State Party (NMSP) on 6 January near
the Three Pagodas Pass, Mon State in southern Burma.
The clash occurred after the NMSP fighters tried to stop a group of
DKBA fighters from transporting drugs through its territory.
Both groups signed ceasefire agreements with the military regime of
Burma, the SPDC and they are supposed to be allies and friends.
According to the spokesman of NMSP Naing Banya Mon, one DKBA fighter
was killed and two were seriously wounded and they are currently
being treated in the local hospital.
Four packets of heroine and a M-16 assault rifle were also seized
from them.
