Our Mon Women's Organization received the terrible news that Nai Shwe Kyin
(President of the New Mon State Party) passed away in Mawlamyine. We loss
our good President. Upon hearing this news, we feels deeply grievous and we
extend our condolences to the family of Nai Shwe Kyin.

Letter of Condolence

The MRC is saddened to learn that Nai Shwe Kyin, the President of NMSP,
passed away at his home in Moulmein on March 7,2003. We honor his hard work
for freedom of Mon people for his whole life and salute his leadership and
patriotism.

The death of Nai Shwe Kyin is not only the great lost of his family and
NMSP, but also the great loss of all Mon people. We offer our deepest
sympathy to his family and NMSP. May he rest in peace forever.

Condolence

We, members of Mon National Council, are deeply sad to hear that Nai Shwe
Kyin, President of New Mon state Party, was passed away on March 7, 2003 at
1.30 am.

It is a great loss to not only Mon People but to all people who are
struggling for democracy and human rights in Burma.

Nai Shwe Kyin had been involved in Mon National Freedom Movement since he
was very young and spent most of his life in the armed struggle and in the
jungle fighting for Mon People Freedom until his last days. He was one of
the greatest leaders Mon People ever have in the Mon Freedom Movement
History. He had devoted the whole of his life for the Mon People Freedom
Movement. He had showed a good example for the young generations of Mon to
follow in pursuing Mon Freedom Movement. We, Mon People, could never forget
for whatever he had done for Mon People. We, members of Mon National
Council, commit ourselves to continue to carry out the tasks he had laid
down for Mon People Freedom Movement and to fight for the Mon People Freedom
in showing our loyalty to him forever.

We, members of Mon National Council, sympathize with all leaders and members
of New Mon State Party for the loss of their great leader.

Dear New Mon State Party and family members of Nai Shwe Kyin,
The Mon Cultural Society (Calgary, Canada) is greatly saddened to learn that
the founding father and President of the New Mon State Party Nai Shwe Kyin
passed away in Moulmein, Mon State.
His commitment in forming the New Mon State Party in 1958, which becomes the
main political party and vanguard for Mon armed struggle over forty years is
an example for our young generation.
On behalf of the Mon community in Canada, we extend to you our deepest
sympathies and sorrow for the loss of a life-long freedom fighter. He was
one of the greatest leaders we ever have in the new Mon history. His
bravery and struggle in serving for national cause by non-violent and armed
struggle will be always remembered by the Mon and all those seeking for
social justice and freedom.
In honor of his memory, bravery, and dedication to a free and independent
Mon State, let us redouble our efforts to promote our rightful cause in
building the new Mon State.
