Awarding giving ceremony and speech contest  held

On December 12, 2009, Education Committee of MRC- Fort Wayne branch held award giving  ceremony and speech contest in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The committee awarded outstanding students from government schools and Mon Summer School. Every year MRC-Fort Wayne recognized outstanding students in order to  enhance education of future Mon generations. The committee also held speech contest in order for Mon school children to practice their speeches in front of audiences. The contestants were as young as four years old.  The younger contestants told stories while older contestants told Mon history.   Mon language school  in Fort Wayne has been operating since 2000. The school not only teaches reading and writing Mon but also teaches Mon culture and history.
