16th Conference of Monland Restoration Council-USA

Akron, Ohio

16th Conference of MRC-USA was held  on December 27, 2009 in Akron, Ohio. The conference was attended by representatives from MRC-Fort Wayne, Mon Community of Ohio (MRC-Ohio), Mon Community of  Buffalo, New York (MRC-Buffalo), Mon Women’s Association of America (Fort Wayne and Akron), Mon Youth Organization (Fort Wayne and Akron), and Mon Sangha Organization. Although representatives from Mon Community of North Carolina were not able to attend in person, they were joined by telephone. The conference was opened by saluting Mon national flag and Mon leaders and comrades who gave their lives for Mon national cause. In the first half of conference, the representatives presented their organizations’ activities in year 2009. In the second part of the conference, representatives discussed  various issues including unity among Mon communities in the US, raising fund for Mon National Fund, and current political situation in Monland. About fifty representatives attended the conference.
