MRC-Fort Wayne and MWAA-Fort Wayne Conference

25-26 December, 2009, Fort Wayne, Indiana

Monland Restoration Council (Fort Wayne) and Mon Women Association of America (Fort Wayne) held their annual conference on 25 and 26 December, 2009. The conference discussed organizations’ activities in 2009 and future  activities including buying a new  temple. Since more and more Mon refugees settled in Fort Wayne, current Mon temple does not have enough space to serve Mon population in Fort Wayne. MRC-Fort Wayne has bought  a  seven acres of land and a building to build a new Mon Buddhist temple in Fort Wayne.

 

Both organizations also elected their CC members for year 2010.  Of these members, Nai Khun Yekha was elected as Chairman, Nai Chan Nai as Vice Chairman, and Nai Michael Mon as Secretary General of MRC-Fort Wayne and Mi Pakao Rot Mon as Chairwoman, Mi Pan Kyi as Vice Chairwoman, Mi Sajin Htaw as Secretary General of MWAA-Fort Wayne.

 

This year MWAA-Fort Wayne also honoured its CC members who have served MWAA-Fort Wayne Central Committee for three years . Please see  below pictures.
