Recognizing outstanding students

12/28/2008-Fort Wayne, Indiana– Monland Restoration Council (Fort Wayne) and Mon Woman’s Association of America (Fort Wayne)  recognized students who received  awards  from their schools in 2007-2008. Sixteen students from grade 7 to grade 12 received outstanding academic awards from their schools. Of these sixteen, three students (Mehn Nonda Chan, Mengal Kem, and Mehn Krak Chan Mon received presidential awards. The rest of the students received outstanding awards in arts, science, and  leadership. After handing the certificates of recognition, Mehn Zaw Wan and Mi Soe Soe gave a thank you speech to  MRC for recognizing  their academic outstanding.

Mehn Zaw Wan who has been receiving leadership award from his school for two year straight was selected as an outstanding student in Indiana State and has travelled to Washington D.C. to meet U.S. Congressional leaders last year.  Mi Soe Soe is not only an outstanding student, but also actively participate in community activities. This year she was elected as vice president of MWAA-Fort Wayne.  MRC-Fort Wayne and MWAA-Fort Waye have been recognizing outstanding students since 1997  with the  objective of encouraging Mon students to work hard for their educations in order for them to carry on Mon national cause in the future.
