Mon Youths in Fort Wayne Preparing for New Year (Songkran) Celebration

Mon youths in Fort Wayne is preparing for upcoming New Year (Songkran) celebration in Fort Wayne, Indiana. A group of Mon youths goes to each Mon house in Fort Wayne and collects donations for upcoming the New Year celebration. Indeed, they have to perform dances to receive donations from the donors.  They also paid respect to elders. According to Mon tradition, prior to the New Year, youngers pay respect to elders. Elders in return pray to youngers for best luck in the following year.
