Mon Community in Fort Wayne celebrated Songkran (Mon New Year)

Mon community in Fort Wayne celebrated Songkran, Mon New Year on April  16 and 17, 2011 at Mon Buddhist in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The celebration programs included donating foods to Buddhist monks, respecting elders, listening  Dhamma, playing with water, competing Mon traditional games, and performing Songkran dance.  The celebration was held by the Mon youth organization and Buddhist Temple Committee in Fort Wayne. Although Mon people are away from their homeland, they keep their tradition and have been celebrating their New Year every year.
