Mon Community of Fort Wayne celebrates Three Rivers Festival
On July 14, 2007, Mon community of Fort Wayne celebrated the 39th anniversary of the Three Rivers Festival in Fort Wayne, Indiana. A group of Mon youths with colorful Mon national dresses marched a long with other 123 groups in downtown of Fort Wayne. Fort Wayne TV Channel 21 reported that, " Mon people are from Monland, Lower Burma. Monland was occupied by Burman in 1757, and since then, they lost their country/state." It is third year for Mon Community of Fort Wayne participating the Three Rivers Festival in Fort Wayne, Indiana in order to raise awareness of Mon culture in Fort Wayne.
