Welcome to our Association

We would gladly express our sincere attitude to youand introduce our association to all Mon. We, MonBuddhist Monks, have been Sri Lanka for main purposeof studying Buddhism in English medium and for other general knowledge too. It should be noted that if we look back to some past decades, many generations of Mon monks came here and studied under different
subjects from time to time. Then they have appropriately achieved their knowledge and entire
education here respectively. From the time onward as they initially paved the way, now our present young generation of Mon Buddhist monks are gradually proceeding and continuously carrying out our purpose of studies that would be national education here up to this day.

As the time went on, the Mon monks in Sri Lanka have increased in numbers. As a result of that it is needed to form an association for the convenient and benefit of our next generation as well as present Mon Buddhist monks who are studying here. Therefore, according to
decision of congregation, an association has been formed under the name of “ Mon Buddhist students’ association of Sri Lanka” since 1993. After forming the “Association”, we began to act and carry out our national, religious and social activities such as typing letter, collecting fund,
annual meeting and sending letter, minute of meeting, statistics of fund to our members who are in other countries such Australia, U.S.A., Thailand, Myanmar etc. These such works and tasks enable us being failure our activities. Those works are not easy to be   undertaken properly without computer facility. In order to perform and carry out the active works save and sound, we need a computer, which will be a compulsory help for our further national education. It will be cost U.S.$ about (1120) including printer.

We, therefore, kindly invite all Mons who have been in various countries, especially U.S.A., Canada, and Australia, to donate any amount of contribution as you can. You are warmly welcome to help and to contribute some donation to get such sum mention above. All of you know that unlike monks in Myanmar and Thailand, in Sri Lanka we have to stand by on our own feet and faced many financial problem such school fees and daily expenses here. We are gladly to invite you for any amount of contribution by individual or by a group. We also hope that all of you would be able to help us. Finally we would like to send our generous and cordial regard to all Mon and wish you to be happy, prosperous, peaceful and successful throughout your lives. May all Mon achieve the final victory soon!
